Compass
2004 was inaugurated on the morning
of 13th February, 2004 as scheduled.
Mr. Somnath Chatterjee, the veteran
Member of Parliament Government of India
and Chief Patron of the exhibition graced
the occasion. Mr. Manabendra Mukherjee,
the Minister in charge Information technology,
Government of West Bengal was the Chief
Guest. He had inaugurated the fair.
Among the distinguished guests presents,
there were Mr. Manikandan of LG India
Ltd, Mr. Alok Bharadwaz of Canon India
Ltd. Mr. GD Gautam, Principal Secretary
Ministry of Information Technology.
Government of West Bengal and others.
The dignitaries later went round the
fair and visited the stalls.
Each
of the dignitaries addressed the gathering
with a positive approach for the emergence
of the IT east. The key mote address
was delivered by Mr. Alok Bhawardwaz,
Mr. Somnath Chatterjee and Mr. Manabendra
Mukherjee narrated Government's standpoint
to promote IT. The industry tycoons
narrated their desire of expanding
business in the east. Mr. VK Bhandari,
President Compass and Mr. Narendra
Dhanuka, Secretary COMPASS explained
the role and vision of Compass. At
the end of the inaugural ceremony,
Mr. Pawan Jajodia, Chairman of the
Exhibition Committee gave the vote
of thanks. |
