During the tenureship of President V.K.Bhandari COMPASS achieve many & more things.
In the year 1999,
We have acquired office in 1999-2000 at 1st Floor , 37, Shakespear Sarani Kolkata - 700 017 and it is fully registered in the name of Association.
COMPASS was successfully organized in April 1999 at Netaji Indoor Stadium, inaugurated by the Minister of Industry Late Sri Bidyut Ganguli and the chief Guest was Mr.Sharad Srivastav, General Manager, Seagate. We have generated an amount of Rs. 19,79,777 was transferred to building fund.
COMPASS has organised 2 days seminar on Internet and Multi- Media. Satyam Infoway and HCL were present and sponsored by Jalan Infotech Ltd.
On 15th August 1999, Association organized a function at Netaji Indoor Stadium, to handed over personally the amount of Rs.31lacs collected from our members to 15 bereaved families of Kargil through Army Central Welfare Fund.
One Training session on "Communication Skill" and another on "Windows 2000" were organised on 21st August,1999 at Birla Planetarium.
In the year 2000,
COMPASS 2000 was held at Netaji Indoor Stadium at January and exhibition was inaugurated by Hon'ble Union Minister for communication, Sri Tapan Sikdar and Chief Guest was Mr. Don Kennedy, Vice President of Seagate. We have generated an amount of Rs. 26,54,070 was transferred to building fund. A dinner party was hosted in the honour of Mr.Don Kennedy at Grand Hotel and present him a memento on behalf of the association.
Published IT directory of Eastern India and formally released by Sri Vivek Prakash, GM,Samsung Electronics Ltd at Park Hotel on 16th Sept. It consisting more than 1500 address of Channel Partners, Traning Centers and Service Providers covering all the 11 States of Eastern India.
Our Web site www.compassindia.com was launched by the Minister of Tourism, Youth Affairs and Environment, Sri Manabendra Mukherjee on 16th September,2000 at Park Hotel.
COMPASS-ANKUR Training Center was inaugurated on 9th September by the Councillor of Jadavpur, Sri Debabrata Majumdar at Ankur (A division of Nehru Childern's Museum) for the purpose of imparting job oriented computer training to economically backward and physically challenged unemployed youth.
Holi Meet organized on 17th March, 2000 for encouraging bonhomie among our member.
